GreenCamUz National Seminar on Green University Development
A national seminar for higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held within the framework of the Resolution No. PQ-110 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 25 March 2026, the National Green Economy Strategy, the Uzbekistan–2030 Strategy, the nationwide “Yashil Makon” initiative, and the Erasmus+ CBHE project “GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan.”
The seminar brought together representatives of higher education institutions, academic staff, university managers, and sustainability practitioners to discuss strategic approaches to implementing green transformation initiatives across universities in Uzbekistan.
The programme focused on the development and implementation of the Green Campus Strategy, the presentation of the Roadmap 2.0, and the introduction of updated Key Performance Indicators (KPI 2.0) designed to support sustainability-oriented institutional development. Participants explored practical mechanisms for integrating environmental sustainability into university governance, campus operations, educational activities, and community engagement.
The seminar featured presentations by Ulugbek Mamadaliyev, GreenCamUz Project Coordinator, and Rustam Gulyamov, Head of the Project Department of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The speakers shared insights into national priorities, international best practices, and strategic tools for advancing Green Campus initiatives within higher education institutions.
The event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, strengthening cooperation among universities, and promoting sustainability-oriented reforms in line with national development priorities and the objectives of the GreenCamUz project.
The seminar contributed to raising awareness of Green University principles and supporting the implementation of sustainable development practices across higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
