National Seminar on the “Green University Strategy” for Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan
A national online seminar for higher education institutions of Uzbekistan will be organized within the framework of the Resolution No. PQ-110 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 25, 2026, the National Green Economy Strategy, the Uzbekistan–2030 Strategy, the nationwide “Yashil Makon” initiative, and the Erasmus+ CBHE Strand 1 project GreenCamUz (“Green Campus Initiative: Embedding Sustainability in Higher Education in Uzbekistan”).

The seminar will focus on the implementation of Green Campus principles in universities, integration of sustainability into education and institutional governance, and alignment with international sustainability standards and rankings, including UI GreenMetric.
Participants will be introduced to the outcomes of the GreenCamUz project, the Green Campus Strategy 2026–2030, Roadmap 2.0, and the Target Indicators (KPI) Framework 2.0 developed for higher education institutions.
The proposed strategy aims to transform universities into Smart Sustainable Universities through the implementation of the following priority areas:
• Green governance and institutional management;
• Energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions;
• Sustainable water management;
• Development of a Paperless University model;
• Green education and sustainability-oriented curricula;
• Green research and innovation ecosystems;
• Student environmental leadership and Green Ambassadors programmes;
• Smart Green Campus and digital monitoring systems;
• Sustainable mobility and transport infrastructure;
• Strengthening green partnerships with government, industry and international stakeholders.
The seminar is intended for university leaders, vice-rectors, academic staff, researchers, international relations officers, and professionals engaged in sustainability and environmental initiatives.
