The GreenCamUz Second Training Program Continued with Expert Sessions on Sustainable Water Management and Higher Education

The third day of the Second GreenCamUz Training Program, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE Strand 1 project “GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan,” took place on 8 July 2026 at Karabük University (Türkiye). The programme continued with expert presentations and practical sessions dedicated to sustainable water management, environmental sustainability, and international experience in higher education. 

The third day of the Second GreenCamUz Training Program, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE Strand 1 project “GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan,” took place on 8 July 2026 at Karabük University (Türkiye). The programme continued with expert presentations and practical sessions dedicated to sustainable water management, environmental sustainability, and international experience in higher education. 

The day's programme began with a visit to the Demir Çelik Institute Laboratory, where participants had the opportunity to observe the laboratory facilities and learn about the institute's research activities. The visit provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of scientific research and engineering education at Karabük University. 

The academic sessions continued with a series of presentations delivered by Assist. Prof. Halis Simsek from Purdue University (USA). His first lecture, "Best Practices in Syllabus Design: The U.S.A. Higher Education Experience," introduced participants to international approaches to curriculum development and shared experiences from higher education institutions in the United States. 

The programme also included presentations on Livestock Waste Management and Agricultural Wastewater Treatment, highlighting current approaches to sustainable environmental management. Participants further attended a presentation of the BiG Project, which served as an example of a sustainability-oriented research initiative. 

In the afternoon, Assoc. Prof. Ertuğrul Esmeray from Karabük University (Türkiye) delivered presentations on Reuse of Wastewater and Wastewater Treatment, introducing sustainable approaches to water resource management and wastewater treatment practices. 

The Second GreenCamUz Training Program continues to provide an important platform for sharing international expertise, exchanging best practices, and strengthening cooperation among partner institutions. Through expert lectures, practical sessions, and collaborative discussions, the programme contributes to the implementation of sustainable higher education practices and supports the objectives of the GreenCamUz project in Uzbekistan.
